ThePort-a-BachHouseContainerHouseisacontainerhousedesignedbyAtelierworkshopArchitectsinNewZealand.ItsprototypewasbuiltinHangzhouandshippedtoNewZealandandisnowapermanentcollectionofthePukeArikiMuseuminNewPlymouth.Port-a-Bachiscurrentlyonlyapilotprojectandhasnotachievedcommercialproduction. Thehousecontainerhouseisequippedwithcabinetsandshelvestoprovideamplespacefortheitems.Italsohasastainlesssteelkitchenwithashower,sinkandtoilet,allwithoutprejudicetothesurroundingenvironment.Thedesigneralsodesignedascreentoallowtheusertoeasilyseparatesmallerspacesintheroom.Withthegoalofmobility,stabilityandsafety,thedesignerdividedthecontainer,whichis6metersinlengthandabout36squaremetersinsize,intoabunkbed,akingbedroom,adressingroom,akitchen,abathroomandanopenfloor.Functionalspacesuchaslivingroom/balcony,equippedwithsolarandwindenergyequipmentthatmeetsdailyneeds,comfortablyaccommodatestwoadultsplustwochildren. Thewallsofthecontainerhouseareequippedwithmovableshaftsthatcanbedeployedaroundtoextendthelivingspacetotheoutdoors.Thereisalayerofcanvasonthesteelshellofthecontainerhouse.Whenthewallpanelofthehouseisunfoldedintoaplatform,itcanbeusedtobuildasmalllivingspaceontheplatform.Thereare6reinforcedconcretesupportsatthebottomofthehouse,allowinguserstoplacecontainerhousesinavarietyofterrains. Port-a-bachisarugged,safe,functional,comfortablelivingenvironmentthatdoesnotpollutetheenvironmentandcanbeeasilytransportedbytruckorhelicopter,providingaflexiblesolutionforlong-termmobileliving.
